Packing, Packing
Well, we’ve been busy the last few weeks slowly packing our home up, and we’re almost there. Shelley has done an amazing job keeping things organized and making sure we don’t forget all of those little things, like change of addresses, etc. This weekend we’ve stepped things up another notch and have been working like crazy getting everything ready for the big move on Tuesday.
The movers are supposed to arrive on Tuesday afternoon, and then take the truck to their compound and lock it up for the night. Shelley and I will be heading to Pender Harbour that evening, sleeping on a inflatable mattress.
The movers will arrive Wed morning with the truck and we’ll be busy again unpacking!
I’ve booked a couple weeks off to unpack and enjoy our new home. We expect to do lots of exploring and enjoying the summer sunshine on the Sunshine Coast! At some point I’d like to get back to Richmond and get our boat seaworthy and then bring it up to its new home right at the marina at our new place.
Shelley should be able to enjoy most of the summer as she’s not yet arranged for a permanent job, but that’s just fine with both of us. Nice chance to relax and enjoy the new place. We’re confident that God will lead her to an appropriate opportunity.
We’re really excited about the upcoming move – wish we could move tomorrow!
But tomorrow after church we will be heading to Cathy and Glenn’s place for a big summer bash! Mike and Barb will be there, our kids say they’ll show up, and my Uncle and Aunt Peter and Marion and family plan to come as well. I guess it will be a chance to say goodbye to everyone, but of course we look forward to all the visitors we hope to get at our new place, and I know we’ll have many excuses to come back into ‘civilization’ and see everyone.
